Joined Jill's party in the evening and caused me to work till 12:00 tonight. Thank God! I have discovered that the problem I met yesterday is not related to my samples but the measurement setup itself. My samples are actually working fine. I have also found out something different from the previous work done in our group. I am moving forward now...

By the way, I have got the camera. Thanks, dad and brother!

Is the summer coming?

Regards,
Johnny

Worked till 11:00 tonight and have found that I am screwed!!! I spent the whole day to grow a sample but it got strange signal from the measurement. What the fuck!!! It's weird because I am pretty sure that all the steps involved are correct. Oh...I am headache + sleepy now...I still need to wake up early to prepare a new sample tomorrow. I have planned to join Jill's party on tomorrow evening...but I might probably need to stay at the department and complete my work then. I have to turn down her invitation again...I am so sorry...

Please don't work as a researcher if you are not tough enough...

Best wishes,
Johnny

Have done a test this afternoon and the Cambridge sample is epitaxially grown and magnetic at room temperature. I will post the sample to Stuart tomorrow. I am hoping to get some data and publish a paper on this sample later on. I will focus on the experiment which I may present in the conference in August from tomorrow. I need to hurry up!

Just got to know that one of my friends' former classmate has injured quite seriously in a car accident in the States. She will be having a number of surgeries in the future. Life is fragile and unpredictable. Everything may happen. Please treasure your time and love those people around you. Don't think that we will have "take 2" in our lives.

P.S. I will be moving my stuff to a new house on the coming sunday. I will still live in wentworth from mon to fri though.

Regards,
Johnny

Quite productive this week...

I managed to get some data from my samples (not sure if the data is sample signal though) and found out something interesting in another experiment. I also got the cambridge sample done tonight. I will continue doing some more measurements to confirm the magnetic properties of the sample on monday.

I feel that everything is back on track now...Thanks god!!!

All the best,
Johnny

I was the last one to leave the department again tonight. I have been trying to occupy myself with work all the time so that I will not think of something meaningless to me. I want to forget how unfair the world is, how cruel the truth is and how fragile the relationships between people are. It's really sad to know all these when we grow up. I am reluctant to see all these happen again and again. I used to think that I was living in a stable environment with everything just good enough to me, but in fact, I suddenly lost everything and my life became too excited to me. I don't like changing in my life; however, the world has pushed me to go forward. May I take a short break? I really feel tired to stand firm by myself...will someone lend a shoulder to me for a rest?

Johnny
